Jimmy Insolo is a retired American race car driver who was born on November 20, 1943, in Inglewood, California, USA. He began his racing career in the 1960s in various forms of motorsports such as midget cars, sprint cars, and stock cars.
Insolo is best known for his success in NASCAR races from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. During this time, he raced in over 80 NASCAR Cup Series races, with his best finish being third place in the 1980 Atlanta 500.
In addition to NASCAR, Insolo also participated in other racing series such as the SCCA Trans-Am Series, the International Motorsports Association, and the USAC Stock Car Series. He retired from professional racing in the late 1990s.
Insolo was inducted into the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame in 2013, in recognition of his successful career in motorsports.
